The Grammys: Beyonce

I'm not a hater, and for the record I believe Beyonce is absolutely gorgeous and talented but what in the world was Beyonce thinking when she decided to dip her hair (or should I say weave) into a clogged strainer dipped into Chlorox bleach? Don't tell me it wasn't Chlorox unless she actually decided to also dip her hair into a vat of deep frying oil to get that oh-so-wonderful straw look. And what was with the dress that made one of her boobs look like it got swallowed by an alien form of aluminum? You almost have to have an amoebe-like body to get into the bodice of that thing.

Guys & the "uniform"

I remember I used to get excited every time I saw a guy in designer jeans (it rarely ever happened). Now, that has changed, just about EVERY guy I see out has a designer label on his pockets...don't get me wrong I love a guy who knows how to rock designer duds; but it has become the uniform. You know the uniform: designer jeans (usually True Religion), designer kicks, overpriced screen-printed tee (usually Ed Hardy), hair perfectly cut into a faux hauk (with highlights/lowlights, even stripper stripes), and at least one arm tattoo. It was scary when all the girls looked the same, but now the guys too?

Am I the only one distressed over this? Am I crazy?

Are You into the MIX Shops or NOT!!!

You know i will admit i do like like the mix, it is one of the valley's nicest places to shop. I like the flow of it, but for some valley shoppers it is different and confusing. To boutique owners you have your loyal customers right!! why because you treat them well. The reason i say this is because i think the mix forgot the MEMO!! The workers at the mix are not somewhat helpful and they are RUDE... When i was there and needed some help not one employee acknowledged me at ALL! Also all there employees are mostly women who just stand there playing with there hair or just looking clueless. (what is up with that). By saying that i say this to the mix RETAIL 101, treat your customers with respect and courtesy. What is your take on the mix i would like to know.

much love,

Queen B

Designer or Duds?

So I'm all for everyone looking their best but what is up with all of the designers who are now launching lines at the local Target or Kohl's such as Vera Wang and Hollywould? Does this change your view of their luxury lines or do their new lines allow the masses to wear designer duds? I will never forget when I bought a very pricey bikini and wrap from Mossimo (o.k. so now you know I'm no spring chicken) and that same season it became available at Target for $19.99 - I was mortified and never wore it again. Am I missing the boat or do you sympathize with this self-professed label snob?
